Archived News Return to the homepage 8th July 2007: It's been a while! However, the present status with the Piccadilly is that it has been fitted with new auto announcements, extended with scenery to Oakwood and a start made on Cockfosters depot. There is a possibility of a "battery loco special" serving the depot. 25th December 2006: Oh dear, I'm awful at updating things, aren't I? Well, sadly since October very little has happened as I have been busy with A levels. However, in the past couple of days I've "blown the dust" off the Picc and got back into coding at a decent rate. At present, the scenery between Southgate and Oakwood is almost complete, with Oakwood station being the next to tackle. Whether I'll get anywhere near Cockfosters in time for Acton... well, we'll see eh? 29th October 2006: Apologies for the lack of updates as I have been very busy recently. Work on the Piccadilly continues and on the 59 stock hopefully there will be something to show come Acton time. A couple of links which were dead have been removed. 14th July 2006: Not much to say of progress as there hasn't been any! Unfortunately I've been busy over the recent past, however hopefully news of some WIP will be announced soon together with some new Piccy screenshots. 18th June 2006: We've - hopefully - rectified all the problems with the site which occured earlier in the month. Work continues on NETram and Picc. 11th June 2006: Apologies for the recent downtime - problems at the host. Hopefully all sorted now. 14th May 2006: Things have been very quiet recently. All development is currently canned until the afternoon of 9th June 2006, whereupon I shall be free from the awfulness that is exams! Expect an announcement around that date of a short mystery project from BRJ, too... 01st April 2006: Not an April Fool, since it's after mid-day, but an update to the Picc has been released. v5.2.6 corrects some signalling issues and provides a couple of better sounds. Get all 300kb of it from the routes page. 18th March 2006: Some downloads shifted to other servers. A secondary server now hosts smaller downloads and certain pages and images. New Work In Progress page added with news on some BRJ projects (both short- and long- term) 17th March 2006: Mirror servers have been added to the most popular Piccadilly line downloads - this allows you to select the one nearest to you, and provides for redundancy if certain servers are down. 10th March 2006: A little work has occured on the line just north of Arnos Grove 06th March 2006: Work continues to progress on the Piccadilly, albeit at a slow pace. Acton was a great success, there are some photos here of the event. Several inaccuracies were spotted over the weekend which are duly to be fixed. 20th Febuary 2006: The NETram and Somerset & Dorset downloads are back on the routes page, and there is a Piccadilly line route guide showing speed limits etc on the Piccadilly page. I have also added the Newbury houses / shops and nettle embankment objects. 19th Febuary 2006: Finally I've managed to network my machines so I can access the internet without resorting to the dinosaur I'd used previously - now my main development machine is connected. This should mean some of the minor things I've missed out on (like updating this) can now be done. On the development page you can find three new files - a couple of freeware objects and an article on calculating diverging curves. Enjoy them! Finally Acton is in a couple of weeks, the Picc route will be there on display, if you're there then please do say hi! 12th Febuary 2006: Not much has happened in the way of development in the past month since I last updated - schoolwork still takes up loads of time. I have, however, almost perfected the Piccadilly line auto announcer utility, you can now trigger it whilst driving BVE fullscreen. The pointwork for Hammersmith siding is in place and the route is just being "tidied up" ready for Acton. If you're coming to the Open Weekend, be sure to say hi to us on the BVE stand there :-). Look out for some route guidance diagrams for the Picc (showing speed limits etc) which should be appearing here pretty soon as well as some new opensource objects.
